Payments

The Department of Finance provides the overall accounting services to the Government.  It receives and disburses payments to and from the Government and maintains accounting records for the Government.


 

Payments from Government of Yukon  (Accounts Payable)

Payments from Government of Yukon to individuals, private companies, corporations, organizations, and other levels of government are administered by Accounts Payable.   This includes payments for all departments within the Government.  Generally, payments are made 30 days from the date that the invoice was received or the service/goods were provided (whichever is later).  Cheques are produced and distributed by Accounts Payable on a daily basis.

The Government of Yukon is exempt of GST/HST. The exemption is provided by section 5 of the Canada-Yukon Reciprocal Taxation Agreement (RTA) .

Employee Payments from Government of Yukon  (Payroll)Employee Payments from Government of Yukon  (Payroll)

Payments from Government of Yukon to employees are administered by Payroll.  This includes payments pursuant to various pension acts, payments to Ministers and Ministerial Assistants, and payments to external agencies for amounts withheld.

Payments to Government of Yukon  (Accounts Receivable)

Payments from individuals, private companies, corporations, organizations, and other levels of government to Government of Yukon are administered by Accounts Receivable.  These are non-tax payments made to the government for services provided.  Accounts Receivable prepares statements for all customer accounts and maintains customer histories.

 Tax Payments to Government of Yukon  (Revenue Services)

Revenue Services is responsible for the development and implementation of taxation policies and strategies, and the administration of Yukon tax programs.  It issues fuel and tobacco permits and processes fuel and tobacco returns.
