Generally, you can expect payment 30 days from the date that the invoice was received or the service/goods were provided (whichever is later).  For additional information on payments by Government of Yukon contact the Supervisor of Accounts Payable, Finance, at (867) 667-5350.

Is the Government of Yukon exempt of GST/HST?

By virtue of section 5 of the Canada-Yukon Reciprocal Taxation Agreement (RTA)  the Government of Yukon is exempt of GST/HST.

I found an old cheque from the Government of Yukon.  Can I still cash it? (When does a cheque become stale-dated?)

Government of Yukon cheques become stale-dated six months after issue date. If you have a stale-dated Government of Yukon cheque, please contact us to obtain a replacement cheque by calling the Manager of Accounts Payable at 867-667-5350 or 1-800-661-408 (Local 5350).

Where can I find out about the Child Benefit Program and child benefit payments?

Payments are made by the federal government through the Child Tax Benefit program.   For information on payments and other information contact Canada Customs & Revenue Agency at 1-800-387-1193.

Yes.  The Yukon government will accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Interac debit cards.
